Festival International de Jazz – Jazz dans la nuit avec ICI Musique

La harpiste et artiste de musique électronique Lara Somogyi et le pianiste/compositeur Jean-Michel Blais ont fait paraître sur l’étiquette Mercury KX l’album désert, un projet collaboratif et entièrement improvisé.

Né d’une rencontre fortuite dans l’immensité silencieuse de Joshua Tree, désert est un album qui a émergé aussi naturellement que le soleil peint l’horizon au crépuscule. Chaque morceau est une improvisation pure et brute—un échange intuitif qui reflète à la fois la beauté éphémère du paysage et la profonde connexion musicale que nous avons découverte sur le moment.

Inspirés par le passage de l’aube au crépuscule, leur improvisation se résume en onze morceaux, reflétant un voyage de l’illumination à l’obscurité, de la simplicité à la complexité, et des étrangers aux âmes sœurs. Les mélodies véhiculent la transcendance et les harmonies canalisent la synchronicité, tissant un récit imprévu et intemporel.

Pioneering electronic harpist Lara Somogyi and award-winning pianist/composer Jean-Michel Blais have joined forces for a groundbreaking album project, désert.

The album emerged from a serendipitous encounter at Lara’s remote studio amidst the serene expanse of Joshua Tree. Entirely improvised, it captures the natural, organic interaction between the two artists, reflecting both their intuitive musical connection and the true essence of the moment in which they recorded it.

Inspired by the passage from dawn to dusk, their improvisation distilled into eleven tracks – mirroring a journey from illumination to obscurity, from simplicity to intricacy, and from strangers to kindred spirits. Melodies convey transcendence and harmonies channel synchronicity – weaving an unforeseen, timeless narrative.
